Talk about a FUN-FILLED weekend!!!!!! Wow, we saw so many places in only 2 days! Our trip started out with the excitment of catching the bus from the road. haha. We missed the bus at the station and decided to run it down from the road. After about 20 minutes of driving Full Speed, we saw the bus in the distance!! Sergio´s dad was driving us, and let me just say, I was a little scared for my life. haha not really, but we sure were going fast. So when we caught up to the bus, Sergio wove the tickets out the window to the bus driver to make him stop the bus so we could get on. And he stopped!! We made it safe and sound, haha.
After the 6 hour bus ride.........we arrived to MEXICO CITY!! Doan, one of Sergio´s best friends, came with his cute girlfriend Denise to pick us up. We were sooo hungry and went straight to a restaurant where we ate some yummy tacos. My new favorite tacos are Tacos al Pastor. They are so good. We then went to Denise´s house, where we were staying for the weekend.
We didn´t get much sleep that night BECAUSE we had to wake up super early to go to 6 FLAGS! Woo Hoo...It was also Sergio´s FIRST TIME riding a roller coaster!! Can you believe it, cuz I couldn´t!! Here we are in line for his first ride...The Dark Night!
The first couple that we rode were fun for him until we rode THE BATMAN! Haha. Definately Not our favorite roller coaster. Here is what Sergio thought about it! Haha!
Did I mention we swam with Dolphins!!!!! And for only 20 bucks! Amazing!!!!
It was a really great day. The Superman roller coaster was the BEST!Here are some more shots of our fun day!
The next day, our anniversary day, we headed to Teotihucan. The Mayan/Aztec ruins. It was so awesome! I always try to imagine what it might have been like when the Lamanites and Nephites were there. We had a great time climbing the Pyramid of the Sun and seeing the beautiful views! I also found some great gifts for my family!
After Teotihuacan, we went to the center of the city. In every big city of Mexico, the center always has the old colonial buildings of Mexico. And Mexico City of course has some really cool buildings. It is also where The President and other politcians spend alot of their time...(Sergio´s dream job, the president of Mexico).
And YES..this building has a tree sticking out of it. Weird.
For our anniversary date, we got fancied up and went out to dinner at Italianni´s. And then we went to the movies to watch The Ugly Truth. The restaurant and theater was located in this really cool outdoor mall that had a Beautiful view of the city. We loved it. And to top off our night, we stayed in a little hotel close by. It was wonderful!
On Sunday, we all watched conference together and then went to the home of Doan´s Aunt for some yummy lasagna. Denise also made brownies and an excellent fruit tart for dessert! And then we were off to the bus station again to go back home to Aguascalientes. And this time we were ON TIME for our bus. haha. What a Great Trip we had. We have a goal to take a trip together every anniversary...so maybe next time it will be CANCUN! We will see :)
